How to Clean Carpet Spots & Stains

Keep your carpet looking like new after a spill.

Spots and stains on your carpet are ugly and ruin the appearance of your home. Using carpet cleaners and various tools around the home can get the carpet spots and stains out and have your carpet looking much better. At least once a year, do a full steam cleaning or washing of your carpets to keep them looking good.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• Carpet cleaning spray
• Wet vacuum (optional)

Instructions

1. Blot the excess wetness with paper towels. Firmly press the paper towel into the spot, allowing the liquid to be soaked in.

2. Spray the spot with the cleaner until it is soaked.

3. Let the liquid settle in for about 10 minutes.

4. Soak the cleaning liquid with more paper towels and you should see the stain come out as well. If you have a wet vacuum, use that to more fully get all of the liquid and stain from your carpet.
