How to Make 7/8 Inch Jewelry Glass Tile Pendants

You can create a personalized pendant with a 7/8-inch glass tile, which is a common size of the tiles used to make necklace pendants. You can wear a photo of a loved one or a miniature reproduction of your favorite piece of artwork on the pendant around your neck. You will need the some materials and follow the correct procedure to successfully make your own 7/8-inch glass tiles.

Instructions

    • 1

Brush some decoupage medium on a piece of decorative paper in a small, 7/8-inch area that you want to use as the design for your glass pendant. You can also draw a design on the paper or print out an image from your computer that you have scaled to the appropriate size. Coating the design with decoupage medium prevents the ink from running. Wait 30 minutes for the decoupage medium to dry.

    • 2

Cut the piece of paper to slightly smaller than 7/8 inch so you will have a small, even amount of space between the edges of the paper and the edges of the glass tiles.

    • 3

Apply the decoupage medium in a thin layer on the back of the small piece of paper and affix it to the front of the glass tile. Ensure an even amount of space is left between the edges of the paper and the edges of the glass on all four sides. Smooth the paper flat down. Wait at least one hour to allow the decoupage medium to dry.

    • 4

Squeeze the clear craft adhesive glaze slowly and gently onto the piece of paper that you glued to the glass tile. Glaze around the edges first and work your way to the center. The clear craft adhesive glaze

acts as the cover of the paper to protect it and give it a glossy, glass-like finish. Wait four hours for the adhesive glaze to cure.

    • 5

Dab a small amount of craft epoxy to the front of the flat part of a glue-on bail, which is a piece of metal that can be glued to the back of a flat object and has a loop at the top that you can feed a necklace chain through. Press the glued side to the middle of the back edge of the glass tile. Allow it to dry for 24 hours before wearing your new glass tile pendant.
