How to Cut Wallpaper

If you're one of those folks who just doesn't like the look of paint on your walls, chances are you're going to go the wallpaper route instead. The right wallpaper can, after all, make a room downright enjoyable. Of course, before you can start hanging that wallpaper, you're going to need to cut it to size--and so that the pattern you are using starts at the right place. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Pencil
  • Cutting implement (scissors or hobby knife)
  • Straight edge ruler

Instructions

      Unroll the wallpaper slightly and hold it up against the wall.

      Adjust and unroll the wallpaper until you find where you want the pattern to start at the ceiling line. Make two marks on the back of the wallpaper with your pencil at this point, one at either edge of the paper.

      Place the wallpaper on the floor and use your straight edge ruler and pencil to connect the two marks.

      Cut the wallpaper with your scissors or knife along the line.
