How to Play PS2 Games on Your PC for Free

But for those of you who want to relive glorious days of the past, or play games you never had the opportunity to play back then, emulators come to the rescue. With no extra cost and following a few simple steps, you will be able to download and run any PS2 game directly on your PC.

Visit the Emulator Zone at emulator-zone.com. Make sure you check the updates on the front page, as you may find a recently added program, more suitable for your system.

Click in the "Playstation 2" link at the left end of the page. The consoles are grouped under each manufacturer, so look for Sony, if you have a problem spotting the link.

Choose the "PCSX2" emulator, as it is the most recent and highest ranked program, based on the ratings of its users.

Click on the only available version of the emulator to start the download. Don't forget to come back to this screen and rate the emulator yourself, as this will help future users the same way it helped you.

Decompress the downloaded file and install the emulator. Make sure you have a suitable application like Winrar, as all of Emulator Zone's files are compressed.

Make sure you have the "utorrent" program on your PC. You can download it at utorrent.com, clicking on the "Free Download" button on the main page.

Go to "torrents.to" and type your preferred game on the black search bar, just underneath the website's logo.

Choose one of the available options. Remember that this website works as a search engine for torrents, so if you are not satisfied with the results, move to "btjunkie" (the only other free torrents website), using the black bar at the top of the page.

Click on the "Download .torrent" link and press OK on the pop-up utorrent window, to start downloading the game.

When the torrent is downloaded, you can start playing the game. Run it by using the "Open" option on the emulator.

Tips & Warnings
When downloading torrents, always opt for the ones with the most seeds, as they will be downloaded much faster than the others.
When using the emulator, close all unnecessary applications, allowing the program to use your CPU's full capabilities.
Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements to run the emulator. They are stated in detail on PS2's section at the Emulator Zone website.
