How to Play Music Through a Sound Card in PalTalk

PalTalk is a program you can download on your computer that allows you to quickly chat with other users via the Internet. The PalTalk program features thousands of chat rooms that are sorted by topic and interests, letting you find like-minded people to talk with about your favorite subjects. This program also supports video chat and audio support, which enables you to play your favorite music through a sound card.

Instructions

1. Open up the "Volume Control" window for your computer. This can be done by clicking on the "Control Panel" option in the start menu and then choosing "Sounds and Audio" devices. On the "Volume" tab, click on the "Advanced" button to open the advance volume control window.

2. Click on the "Options" button at the top right-hand corner of the window and click on the "Properties" option that appears on the drop-down menu. This will bring up a new menu where you will click on the "Recording" button in the middle of the screen.

3. Click on the "Record Master" and "Microphone" options on the list of available volume controls that appear after you select the "Recording" option in Step 2. Click on "OK" at the bottom of the window and volume controls will appear for these options. Leave this window open.

4. Open the PalTalk application and enter a chat room as usual. In the bottom of the screen, click on the "Lock Microphone" button to turn off the microphone. Pull the volume controls window back up and click the "Select" button below the "Microphone" slider to unselect the microphone. Click the "Select" button under the "Record Master" slider to select your sound card.

5. Open your media player and select a song to play. Not only will you now hear your music, but those in the chat room will hear it as well.
