Vampire costumes have long been a favorite for Halloween. Whether you are dressing up for a Halloween party or simply a party with a vampire theme, you will need a costume. Vampire costumes bought online or in a store can get pricey, so make one yourself. You likely already have most of the items you need to make your own vampire costume. Instructions

    • 1

Create your cape using a black sheet. Decide how long you want your cape. Cut the cape so it is that length and twice the width. Lay the cape flat and cut an oval along the bottom of it. When you are ready to wear your cape, drape it across your shoulders and attach it with a brooch.

Wear a white shirt with your costume. A simple button-down, long-sleeved white shirt will work, but a tuxedo shirt or a ruffled shirt will look better. Look for a lacy or brocade shirt at a thrift store for extra effect.

    • 3

Add simple black pants to your outfit. Choose tuxedo pants if you have a pair.

    • 4

Paint your face ghostly pale with white face paint. Accentuate your eyebrows with black mascara and smudge black face paint beneath your eyes. Put on bright red lipstick, and use red face paint to make it look like you have drops of blood around your mouth.

    • 5

Put on a pair of fangs that fit onto your teeth, and your outfit is complete.
