How to Change the Ink Pad on the Costco Stamper

How to Change the Ink Pad on the Costco Stamper thumbnail
Almost every self-inking stamp uses the same mechanism to change the pad

Costco sells self-inking stamps that eliminate the need for separate and messy stamp pads, instead streamlining the effort by including the stamp pad directly within the stamp itself. However, when the ink dries out or is used up, that pad must be replaced. Using a fairly simple process, you can change this pad yourself in less than a few minutes.

Things You'll Need

  • Costco self-inking stamp
  • Replacement ink pad cartridge

Instructions

    • 1

Push down on the stamp until the top piece of the plastic encasement is level with the top of the ink pad, which will be located in the lower half of the stamp itself.

    • 2

Move the lock located on the side of the plastic container forward until it reaches its unlocked position. If your stamp has a small button instead of a lock, press and hold this button in.

    • 3

Pull and release the used ink pad out of the plastic case. You may hear it click and feel slight resistance towards the end when it is fully extended, but continue to gently pull until the cartridge is fully out.

    • 4

Replace the ink pad by sliding the new cartridge into the slot you have just pulled the old pad out of.

    • 5

Move the lock back into place or release the button you were holding, depending on which type of stamp you have, after the cartridge is fully inside the plastic casing once more.

    • 6

Dispose of the used ink pad in the proper receptacle.
