Use that number as your daily intake target when you create your diet plan.
Purchase a food journal to use to create your daily meal plans and keep track of all of the foods you eat. Create your diet plan by mapping out your breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus being sure to include foods that are rich in nutrients and protein like: meat, chicken, peanut butter, nuts, beans, and eggs. Include healthy fruits and vegetables like bananas, dates, pears, avocados, potatoes and corn. Incorporate nutrient rich snacks into your plan as well like whey protein shakes and protein bars. Refer to your journal often during each day to be ensure you that you are meeting your daily goals and have not missed a meal or a snack.
Weigh yourself on a weekly basis to see if you are moving toward your goal. Adjust your menu and add at least one additional daily snack if you are not getting your desired results, or if you have increased the amount of exercise you participate in daily. Continue your weekly weigh-ins for approximately a month and add additional food products when necessary. Closely monitor your progress but if you are still not gaining weight it may be necessary to have your family doctor run tests to determine if your thyroid gland is functioning properly or if you need to add supplements to your diet plan.
