How to Remove Pepsi From Carpet

Soft drinks stain the fibers of your carpet.

If you are like many people, you find Pepsi and other soft drinks refreshing and bubbly. However, one thing you might not enjoy about having soft drinks in the house is how easily they stain carpets. Dark soft drinks, such as Pepsi, stain almost any carpet color. If a spill happens on your carpet, act quickly to remove it.

Things You'll Need

• Paper towels
• Dish-washing liquid detergent
• Large bowl
• White vinegar
• Cloths

Instructions

1. Place a large wad of paper towels over the Pepsi on your carpet. Press on the paper towels repeatedly to remove the majority of liquid.

2. Add 2 cups water and 1 tbsp. dish-washing liquid detergent to a large bowl. Mix until suds form. Add 1 tbsp. white vinegar to the solution.

3. Submerge a clean cloth in the bowl. Remove it and squeeze about half of the liquid from the cloth.

4. Place the cloth over the Pepsi stain on your carpet. Press firmly on the cloth.

5. Place a dry cloth over the Pepsi stain and again press firmly.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 until you can no longer see the Pepsi stain.

7. Wet a clean cloth with water and squeeze about half of the water from the cloth. Place on the carpet and press firmly repeatedly to remove any detergent residue. Place a dry cloth over the area and again press firmly, or allow area to air dry.
