How to Cook Fresh King Crab
While there are around 40 known species of king crab in the world, only 10 of those species are fished for in the United States. The three major types of Alaskan king crab are red king crab, blue king crab and golden king crab. These types of king crab, along with others, produce a large amount of meat in their legs, especially when compared with smaller crabs. Cooking this seafood is easy and can produce a variety of dish possibilities. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

Boiling

Fill a large saucepan halfway with cold water. Bring the water to a boil.

Add one tablespoon of salt to the boiling water, along with any seasonings you want to use.

Add the crab legs to the boiling water and reduce the cooking heat to medium.

Simmer the legs for about six minutes. Remove them from the water and serve them with any condiments or side dishes you choose.
Grilling

Brush the crab legs with olive oil on all sides. This will prevent them from sticking to the grill.

Heat the grill to about 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the crab legs onto the heated grill for about five minutes.

Rotate the crab legs after they've cooked for the first five minutes, and cook on the opposite side for five minutes.

Remove the legs from the grill and serve them with condiments or side dishes of your choosing. A butter sauce complements grilled crab legs.
Baking

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place the crab legs in a shallow baking dish. Do not allow the legs to overlap one another. Fill the dish with about 1/8 of an inch of hot water.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake it for eight or 10 minutes.

Remove the crab legs from the oven after the appropriate amount of time and serve them.

Tips & Warnings
Crab meat with a blue tint is not fully cooked, and should be returned to the oven, grill or stove.
