It has a sweet taste but it is not overwhelming. When you combine the butter and peanut butter together, it creates a smooth and creamy mixture. The addition of sugar helps to sweeten the frosting, while the milk allows you to achieve the desired consistency. The peanut butter frosting becomes fluffy by beating it with an electric mixer.

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • Mixing bowl
  • 2 cups confectioner's sugar
  • Electric mixer
  • 3 tbsp. whole milk
  • Airtight container
  • Combine 1/2 cup of softened butter and 1 cup of creamy peanut butter in a mixing bowl.

  • Beat the butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer until it is thoroughly combined--you should not be able to see the butter anymore.

  • Add 2 cups of confectioner's sugar gradually and continue to combine the ingredients with the electric mixer. When the frosting starts to thicken, add 3 tbsp. of milk gradually until it reaches the desired consistency.

  • Beat the mixture for 3 minutes to make if fluffy. Apply the icing immediately or place it in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add 2 tsp. of vanilla extract to the frosting to give it a sweeter taste.
  • Avoid applying the icing until the cake has completely cooled or it will melt.
