How to Make a Compact Disc Suncatcher

Turn old CDs into a pretty suncatcher.

Recycle CDs into a pretty craft that kids will like making. Shiny suncatchers will dance in the sun and reflect the light, creating beautiful colors. Customize the suncatchers with stickers or stones to make them personalized. They are easy to make and the perfect craft for kids of all ages. Don't throw away scratched or old CDs, turn them into something interesting and fun.

Things You'll Need

• CD
• Fishing line
• Beads
• Craft glue
• Rhinestones, sequins, buttons

Instructions

1. Slip the fishing line through the hole in the center of the CD and tie a knot to secure it.

2. Thread some beads onto the line until you have as many as you'd like. Crystal beads will reflect the light best. When you are done adding beads, tie a knot and then form a loop with the top of the line so you can hang your suncatcher.

3. Glue decorations onto the CD. Some options are rhinestones, crystals, buttons and colored sequins.

4. Hang your suncatcher in a window or outside on a patio where it will catch the sunlight. Enjoy the sparkle when the CD suncatcher hits the light.
