How to Judge the Quality of a Gas Powered Golf Cart
Golf carts are not only convenient to use on the links. The small vehicles are also helpful for people with disabilities and good for traveling roads where regular automobiles are not a concern. There are a large number of golf carts on the market, but many of them are powered by gasoline. Judging the quality of a gas-powered golf cart is not difficult and can be determined with some test driving and a look at the vehicle's overall condition.

1
Inspect the cart and the tires for any signs of wear or damage that indicate lower quality of the vehicle.
-
2
Start the engine and listen to the noise. If the engine is out of tune or sputtering, it is likely not getting a proper gas mixture and may need a tuneup or repair. Look for pollution coming out of the exhaust as well. While all gas-powered carts pollute to some extent, noticeable black or blue smoke is indicative of a lower-quality cart.

3
Drive the cart and get up to top-speed. One advantage of a gas cart compared to electric is that gas engines are more powerful and can go faster. If the gas-powered cart isn't much faster than an electric model, the engine quality isn't what it should be and you should consider another cart.
-
4
Go up and down a hill to see how the cart handles the burden. A gas-powered engine should be able to handle inclines without a struggle.
-
5
Find out the gas mileage of the cart. Carts can have varying gas efficiency much like cars do, and a more-efficient engine indicates the cart is in better mechanical shape compared with one that is burning through high quantities of gas.
-
6
Consider additional features on the cart such as a radio, windshield and other amenities.
