Instructions

  1. Cake Topper

    • 1

Cut a length of wire measuring 10 inches long. Twist one of the ends into a ball with the needle nose pliers. This serves as a stopping point for when you bead it.

    • 2

Twist the wire length carefully with your fingers to create the shape of a letter. For example, the letter S is easy to make by hand with one length of wire. If you are making other letters like A, T, F and others that require two or more wires, cut lengths of wire that are proportionate in size to make them later following the second set of instructions.

    • 3

Slide several small crystal seed beads down the wire, following the shape of the letter. You can use many varieties of crystal beads; some are more expensive than others. For a 6-to-10-inch tall letter, you will need up to 200 seed beads, possibly more. Repeat this step to create the other letters for the monogrammed cake topper.

    • 4

Twist the free end of the wire into a ball with the needle nose pliers after beading it.

    • 5

Squeeze a line of hot glue across the top of the foam craft cube. Use a cube that measures 36 square inches.

    • 6

Stand the crystal monogrammed wires directly atop the glue line. Hold them upright and in place for two minutes. This keeps them in place while the glue hardens around the bottoms of the letters.

    • 7

Cover the entire surface surrounding the glimmering crystal monogram with artificial or fresh flower blossoms. To do this, snip the blossoms from the stems and glue them using the hot glue gun. This covers the white craft foam cube and completes the cake topper.

    Creating Other Letters

    • 8

Snip a 10-inch length of wire from the jewelry wire roll. Bend the top 4 inches at a right angle. This makes the wire look like a capital letter L.

    • 9

Snip a second length of wire measuring about 4 inches long. Wrap one end of the wire by 1/2 inch around the L-shaped wire directly beneath the right angle by 1 inch. This creates the letter F.

    • 10

Bead the monogrammed wire as described in Section 1.
