How to Fix a Disc Error on a Samsung SC-DX103 Camcorder

The Samsung SC-DX103 records footage onto a mini DVD.

The Samsung SC-DX103 is a digital video camcorder that saves all footage into an inserted mini DVD-R. This allows you to easily upload the video content to a computer or even play back the footage on a compatible DVD player. However, if you are attempting to record content onto the DVD-R, but are running into disc errors there are a few troubleshooting methods available to correct the problem.

• Clean damp cloth

Instructions

1. Check the mini DVD format of the disc you are attempting to use. It must be DVD-R. If it is any other disc format, the camcorder is unable to use it.

2. Clean off the bottom of the DVD-R with a damp, clean cloth. This removes any dust, finger prints or other debris preventing the Samsung SC-DX103 from recording onto the disc.

3. Insert the disc into the video camera, then bring up the main menu. You need to format the disc before you can record with it. Select the "Format" option and press "OK." Wait a few minutes for the video camera to finish the recording process.

Tips & Warnings

• Insert only new DVD-Rs into the video camera. The camcorder is unable to use discs you have already saved footage to.
