Though they will typically fade on their own over time, you can utilize a few quick tricks with household items to get rid of the marks much quicker. The amount of work involved will depend on the depth of the dent and the type of carpet you're working with, but marks from even the heaviest furniture on the plushest carpets can be removed with enough effort.   • Ice
  • Iron
  • Cloth
  • Credit card (or similar card)

      Drop an ice cube into the carpet dent and leave it there until it melts. Dab up the melted water with a towel and rub gently to encourage the carpet fibers to stand up again.

      Set an iron to steam and hold over the carpet if there is any remaining indentation. Steam the carpet for 10 to 15 seconds. If the carpet still has a dent after this treatment, set a damp cloth over the carpet and apply pressure with the iron.

      Work the fibers up into a standing position with the edge of an old credit card if you still have fibers that are laying flat.
