How to Make a Pup Tent
It is possible to construct a simple pup tent for a small shelter that you can use for indoors or outdoors. Pup tents are fun to use on the patio, backyard or front yard and can provide protective shield against the sun. Lay a towel or blanket inside and relax with your favorite book. You can also adjust the measurements to make it bigger or smaller depending on your need and preferences.

- Pencil
- 1 wooden stick, 1-inch square, 5 foot tall

1
Mark the 5-foot wooden stick 2 inches from both ends. This is where the legs of the tent structure will overlap the top of the tent. The 5-foot stick is the top part of your pup tent.
-
2
Measure and mark each of the 6-foot boards at 52 inches. Drill using the long screws to attach two 6-foot sticks together to form an "X" by using the 52-inch mark as your guideline. Repeat with the other two 6-foot sticks. The two pairs of "X" make the legs or uprights of your pup tent.

3
Hold both of the uprights up and place the 5-foot stick above the "X."
-
4
Move the uprights apart so that the marks on the end of the 5-foot stick overlap the "X." Screw the 5-foot stick into the notch of the "X" on both ends using the last two long screws. This forms the tent structure.
-
5
Drape the fabric over the tent structure and hold taut. Drill five screws along each of the four edges to attach the fabric to the tent legs.
