Instructions

    • 1

Place the canvas on a work surface. Paint both sides of the canvas with artist's gesso to create a clean white surface on which to paint. Allow the gesso to dry at least four hours between painting the first side and second side. Allow the gesso to dry at least 24 hours before continuing.

    • 2

Paint a design onto one side of the canvas using acrylic paints and art paintbrushes. Once you are satisfied with the overall design, allow the paint to dry for at least 72 hours.

    • 3

Apply two coats of polyurethane over the top of the painted design to seal it. Allow the polyurethane to dry at least four hours between coats or as directed on the specific sealant container.

Tips & Warnings

  • For non-standard sized rooms, cut the canvas to size and create a folded over hem on the bottom side. Adhere the folded side using contact cement.

  • Apply the gesso, paint and polyurethane sealer in a well-ventilated area.
