Lights and ornaments aren't enough, though; you need garland to really make it Christmas. You have a wide array of garland to choose from, ranging in length, size and material.       Secure one end of the garland on a side of the tree that no-one will see. Nest it deep in the branches so nobody can see where it starts.

      Push the garland deep in the tree, working your way around and, wrapping it close to the trunk. This inner circle will give depth to the tree and provide more interest to the eye.

      Hide the other end of the garland in the tree so it isn't readily visible.

      Start another garland strand and hang it on the outer portions of the branches. Work your way around and down the tree, wrapping it from top to bottom. Leave slack between your hanging points to give the garland a hanging or droopy look.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use metallic garland to reflect the tree lights.

  • Make cheap garland out of string and popcorn.

  • Don't use garland that could catch fire from the heat of the tree lights.
