Marshmallow shooters shoot the candy with air pressure.

Marshmallow shooters are a simple, family project to make out of PVC pipe. This makes a good project for days when children are stuck inside or for a birthday party. The biggest challenge is making sure enough marshmallows are available for children to shoot once the shooter is finished. For a more colorful project, paint the barrel of the gun after it is constructed or use colored mini marshmallows.

Purchase a PVC pipe that is at least one-half inch in diameter and at least 30-inches long. Lay the pipe on a table or floor. Place a tape measure at the end of the pipe, and draw a mark every 3 inches, so that there are five, 4-inch pieces. Cut along the lines with a pipe cutter. Cut one final piece of PVC pipe that is 7-inches long.

Lay an elbow joint, 4-inch PVC piece, T-Connector, 4-inch PVC piece, T-Connector and the 7-inch PVC piece next to one another in a line across the table. Push each of the ends into each other, so that everything is connected.

Insert a 4-inch PVC piece into the open end of the elbow joint on the left side of the connected PVC pipe. Insert a second 4-inch piece into the open end of the T-Connector. Add end caps in both of the pipes to finish the handles.

Insert the last 4-inch PVC piece in the open T-Connector. Push an elbow joint onto the other end of the piece to form the mouthpiece.

    • 5

Load the marshmallow shooter with mini-marshmallows inside the barrel. Hold the gun and blow through the mouthpiece.
