How to Create a Candy Lei
Candy leis are an easy and fun craft for kids to make for a school party, church gathering or rainy Saturday. Once they are done wearing their leis, they can easily tear into it for a sweet snack. Kids can use their favorite candies to create their leis. Small children especially will have fun making their own candy necklaces. Customize the ribbon colors depending on the holiday the leis are for. Use red or pink ribbons for Valentine's Day leis, and black and orange ribbons for Halloween leis.

1
Tear off a strip of plastic cling wrap that measures 40-by-8 inches and lay it out flat on your work surface.
-
2
Place candies about 2 inches apart on the strip. Use about 8 candies for a standard sized necklace; use more if you want a longer lei necklace.
-
-
3
Fold the plastic over, encasing the candies in a tube shape inside the plastic wrap.
-
4
Tie ribbons around both sides of each plastic-wrapped piece of candy so that the candies don't fall or become dislodged from the cling wrap casing.
-
5
Tie the ends of the necklace together using two pieces of ribbon attached to each end of the lei.
