Beeswax candles last longer than other waxes used in candle making.

Creating candles is a useful way to decorate, be romantic with a special someone, or for common sense uses for lighting up a dark room when the lights go out. Beeswax candles can be created in a few minutes time and last longer than other waxes, such as parafin. These beeswax coil candles are so beautiful and quick to make you'll be wanting to make these for every room in your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a sheet of beeswax on a flat surface, such as a table top. Make sure that the beeswax is soft and easy to work with. If the beeswax is too cold it will not roll properly and will break as you are forming the candle.

    • 2

Cut the beeswax in half with a craft knife if you want to create a short, chunky candle. Cut the piece of beeswax in half lengthwise. If you want a tall skinny candle just leave the wax be.

    • 3

Lay a piece of wick on top of one end of the beeswax. Make sure there is about 2-inches of wick hanging off both ends of the wax.

    • 4

Roll the beeswax around the wick. Start out slowly rolling a little at a time to make sure the wax is tightly wrapped around the wick. As more wax is rolled you can begin rolling faster until you have no wax left to roll.

    • 5

Press the edge of the beeswax into the candle. You don't need to press hard, the wax should form just fine from the warmth of your hands keeping the wax in place.

    • 6

Trim the wick at the top of the candle to stick out 1-inch from the top. If there is any wick hanging out of the bottom of the candle cut it flush to the base of the candle.

Tips & Warnings

  • To warm your beeswax sheet prior to rolling, use a hair dryer set on low.

  • Do not attempt to roll the beeswax when it is cold as it will break.
