How to Install Subwoofer Grills
Subwoofers and other car audio components can represent a significant investment on the part of the vehicle owner. Protecting this equipment can range from installing complex and sophisticated security systems to prevent intrusion to something as simple as a subwoofer grill. These simple pieces of hardware represent a very small investment when compared to the overall cost of the system, and can prevent damage to the subwoofer itself.

1
Examine the grill to determine the correct orientation. Make sure any logo or design will be correctly oriented once the subwoofer grill is installed.
-
2
Place the grill over the speaker itself. Inspect the grill to make sure there is plenty of clearance between the grill and speaker. You want a good amount of space between the two, so the speaker doesn't damage itself vibrating against the grill.

3
Hold the grill in place and drive the 1/8-inch screws into the holes on the subwoofer grill, securing it to the speaker box. It is important to have screws that won't go through the speaker box into the speaker cavity.

Tips & Warnings
If available, purchase grills that are made for your speaker. This ensures they will fit properly.
Poorly made grills can possibly damage your speaker. Make sure the vibrating speaker won't touch the grill and puncture the delicate speaker cone.
