That bright red fingernail polish might look great with your new outfit, but it certainly will not look nice anywhere else. When painting your fingernails, it is easy to spill a drop accidentally. If you are sitting over the couch at the time, your couch may now have a nice coat of shiny red fingernail polish. Things You'll Need

  • Tissues
  • Eyedropper
  • Acetone
  • Dry cleaning solvent
  • Cloths
  • Hydrogen peroxide

Instructions

    • 1

      Use a tissue to remove any red fingernail polish that's still wet. If it is dry, scrape away any you can with your fingernail.

      Put some acetone inside an eyedropper, and add one drop to the red fingernail polish stain on your couch.

      Dab the acetone with a tissue right away.

      Add another drop of acetone and again, dab right away. Continue this process until the stain no longer transfers from the couch to the tissue.

      Put dry cleaning solvent on a cloth and dab the stain some more. Keep dabbing until the couch is dry.

      Fill your eyedropper with hydrogen peroxide. Apply a few drops to the red fingernail polish stain.

      Pour cold water onto a cloth and use it to rinse away the hydrogen peroxide.
