How do I Create a New Windows Guild UUID?

A Windows Guild UUID (also known as the Windows GUID) is a unique string of characters that identifies the Windows computer on the network. It is automatically generated by the Windows installation routine and is not normally changed. However, should there be a need to reinstall the Windows operating system, a new Windows Guild UUID can be generated by a computer user who has the appropriate skills.

Instructions

1. Log on to the Windows computer using an account with administrative rights.

2. Click "Start," then "Run." In the text field type "GUIDGEN" and click "OK."

3. Click "Registry Format."

4. Click "New GUID" and click "OK."

5. Copy the new GUID value to the clipboard by clicking "Copy."
