The DirecTV Set Top Box Does Not Display Channels

DirecTV uses satellite dishes to deliver television programming to your living room.

DirecTV is a satellite service provider that provides premium channels do your local dish. With a DirecTV set-top box, you can view and browse through the program guide, which shows you what programs are currently on and what programs are upcoming for the channels that you subscribe to. If the channel data is not displaying, then you will need to reset your box to get up-to-date programming data.

Instructions

1. Open the access card door on your DirecTV set top box.

2. Press the red button to reset the receiver. If your set-top box does not have a reset button, turn on the box and unplug it from the power outlet.

3. Plug the set top box back in after 15 seconds if you had to unplug it and turn the receiver back on. The system will reset and connect to the service provider to download channel information.

Tips & Warnings

• Updating the channel data may take up to 24 hours to complete, so you may have to leave the receiver on overnight for it to finish updating.

• If the weather is poor in your area, you may not be able to connect to the service provider to get up-to-date program data.
