Unscrew the two screws holding the outer chassis of the Schlage doorknob in place with a Phillips screwdriver and remove the screws.

Separate the two sides of the doorknob from the lock mechanism by pulling them away from the door.

Unscrew the two screws holding the latch cover in the side of the door with a Phillips screwdriver, and remove the latch cover.

Slide the door latch out through the side of the door.
