How to Make Decorative TV Covers
Television covers protect your televisions from dust and normal wear and tear, but oftentimes they are hardly worth looking at. Knowing how to create your own TV covers gives you the ability to use your own materials to create something that corresponds with your living environment's decor. Making a decorative TV cover isn't difficult and provides you with an ornamental piece that functions to protect your television while it isn't in use.

LCD TV Cover

1
Measure the dimensions of your television and cut two sheets of fabric that match these measurements plus 2 inches for hemming. For example, if you have a 32-inch LCD television, you will need two segments of fabric that each measure 34 to 36 inches. This is to ensure that the cover will fit once it is constructed. Select a fabric that is pleasing to you and that matches the decor scheme of your television room. The fabric you use is entirely up to you and there are many colors, textures and qualities from which to choose.

2
Lay one of the fabric segments out with the print, or bolder colored side, facing upward. Squeeze a line of fabric glue along all but one edge of the fabric. Place the second segment of fabric with the print side facing downward, onto the first. Press the edges together and then let it dry for 10 minutes.

3
Turn the glued television cover inside out to expose the right sides of the fabric and to hide the seams you have created to make the pouch.

Measure and cut a segment of fabric that matches the measurements of the height plus the circumference of your television. Leave an excess of 2 inches on each side. For example, a 36-inch tube television measures 6 feet in circumference and nearly 3 feet in height. Cut a separate segment of fabric matching the measurement of the top surface of your television.
-
5
Spread the largest of the fabric segments in front of you. Run a 1-inch-thick line of glue along one side of the segment.
-
6
Fold the other side of the fabric segment over to meet the edges. Press firmly to adhere the two edges together. This creates a tubelike structure out of the fabric. Let it dry for 10 minutes.
-
7
Outline the smaller segment with a line of fabric glue with it facing upward. Make sure the right side of the fabric is facedown.
-
8
Pick up the tubelike fabric structure and adjust it so that the right side of the fabric is facing outward. Carefully align the bottom of it with the glued outline of the fabric and set it on top of it. This adheres the edges carefully, so as to create a flattened cap. Let it dry in place for two minutes before turning the pouch upside down.
