How to Clone a Memory Stick

Memory Stick is a proprietary flash memory card developed by Sony. The memory card is most commonly used in Sony-branded cameras, audio and video players and the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP). Since the device is flash-based, it can be easily written and rewritten to, unlike CDs or DVDs. Cloning the Memory Stick is simply a matter of copying the data over to a new Memory Stick.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the original Memory Stick to your computer. If your computer has a built-in memory card reader, simply insert the Memory Stick. If you do not have a built-in reader, you will need a USB Memory Stick adapter.

    • 2

Connect the blank Memory Stick to your computer.

    • 3

Open the Windows Start menu and select "Computer." The Memory Sticks are listed in "Computer" as removable drives.

Double-click the original Memory Stick within Windows Explorer. Choose "Edit," then "Select All." Select "Edit," then "Copy." This copies all files contained on the Memory Stick.

    • 5

Navigate back to "Computer" and double-click the blank Memory Stick. Select "Edit," then "Paste." The files from the original Memory Stick are copied to the new one, exactly as they were.
