Things You'll Need
- All-purpose household cleaner
- Paper towel
- Cotton ball
- Rubbing alcohol
- Laminate repair paste
- Small putty knife
- Rag
- 200-grit sandpaper

Clean the affected area with an all-purpose household cleaner and paper towel. This will remove any dirt or grime that would hamper the repair process.

Wipe down the area with a cotton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol.

Apply a coat of laminate repair paste to the cut with a small putty knife. This paste comes in a variety of colors and is available in a mix or a paste that can be applied directly to the affected area. A paste that must be mixed before application should be prepared according to the package directions. Avoid overfilling the cut.

Remove any excess paste with a rag.

Allow the paste to dry completely and sand it down until the repair is flush with the surrounding countertop with 200-grit sandpaper.

Wipe away any dust created by the sanding with a rag.
