Instructions

    • 1

Place a drop cloth on the area to minimize clean-up time later. Put on goggles and a dust mask for protection while sanding the chairs.

    • 2

Sand the chairs using circular motions until you reach the raw wood's natural golden hue. Desired gray hue should not be sanded to the original wood color. Sand only to smooth the surface.

    • 3

Wipe off the chair with tack cloth to remove the sawdust.

    • 4

Apply small amounts of teak oil to the chair with a clean soft rag. The teak oil should be applied in thin, even layers until the wood stops absorbing it. Each coat should be allowed to dry for 24 hours before you apply the next coat.

    • 5

Apply one coat of teak sealer with a clean soft rag after the final coat of teak oil has thoroughly dried. The teak sealer will provide future protection and will prevent oil loss through evaporation.
