How to Make a Teen Chat Site
Teenagers are spending more time online than ever before -- an average of 31 hours weekly -- according to a 2009 study published in the UK "Telegraph." Communication with other teens is a big part of this: Teens average three and a half hours on instant messenger, and two hours weekly in chat rooms. Opening a teen chat site is a fairly straightforward process, and in fact the site can be started for very low cost or even free.

1
Build a website using online website-building resources. Sites such as Bravenet and Free Web Space (see Resources) provide free website space, site-building tutorials and tools. See the Free-Webhosts Free Webspace list (see Resources) for other site-hosting and building options.
-
2
Place any content that you wish to add on the site. Keep all content age-appropriate, since your main visitors will be teenagers. Articles about teen topics such as social media, health questions, and dating may provide some good resources for the teens to read as they use your chat room.

3
Add a chat room feature to your site. Sites such as Everywhere Chat and Add On Chat (see Resources) provide free chat resources for website owners. Webweaver (see Resources) also provides a large list of sites that offer free chat rooms to add to your website.
