Rogers Communications is a cable TV service based in Canada. The company's cable set-top boxes are equipped with RF jacks for connecting a coaxial cable directly to a TV or to a DVD recorder for recording programs. When hooking up a DVD recorder, use a second coaxial cable for the connection from the recorder to the TV. You'll be able to tape programming to a DVD once the equipment is hooked up.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect a coaxial cable from the RF output on the Rogers set-top box to the RF input on the back of the Toshiba DVD recorder. Tighten the metal fastener on each end of the cable clockwise.

    • 2

Hook up the second cable from the output on the Toshiba to the RF input on the TV.

    • 3

Turn on the power to all equipment and tune the TV to channel 3 or 4. Tune the Rogers set-top box to the channel you wish to record.

    • 4

Eject the media tray on the Toshiba to insert a blank, recordable disc. Close the tray.

    • 5

Press the "Record" button on the Toshiba DVD recorder about 20 seconds before the start of your program, giving the recorder enough time to initialize and get up to speed. Otherwise, you might miss the first few seconds of the program. Press "Stop" to finalize the disc when you are finished recording.
