Instructions

    • 1

Rinse the inside of the milk jugs with water and replace the caps when finished.

    • 2

Arrange a bottom layer of milk jugs in a circular shape, allowing an open "entry space." Point the narrow cap ends of the jugs toward the inside of the circle. You will need roughly 10 to12 times the number of jugs as it took to create this first layer, so you may want to consider adjusting the size of the first layer based on how many jugs you have for construction.

    • 3

Place a thick layer of glue in between each jug and then hold both jugs together for at least 20 to 30 seconds to allow the glue to cool and strengthen.

    • 4

Add another layer of jugs to the base, again with the narrow cap end pointing inward. Secure each jug to the one below it as to ones alongside it using the glue gun. Repeat the process until the walls of the igloo are nearly joined in the center. Be sure to arrange the jugs to angle slightly down and in as the walls of the igloo get higher. You may wish to add a roof to the entry way by gradually adding jugs to cover the gap.

    • 5

Secure the center roof jugs on all four sides Add extra glue where the igloo may be unstable.

Tips & Warnings

  • There is really no wrong way to design or build a milk-jug igloo. Feel free to make your own design and create your own features.

  • Although building the igloo with your child may be fun, be very careful not to let young ones near the glue gun and the hot glue.
