When you need to park at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, you have a lot of options for where to leave your car. Deciding where to park might depend on how long you'll be gone, how much you want to spend and the terminal that you or your pickups are using. If you're using the Humphrey terminal -- also called Terminal 2 -- you'll have a choice between value and short-term parking.

Step 1

Determine whether parking is available in the Humphrey Terminal by calling 877-359-7275 or use visit the SurePark website for details (see Resources). On that web page, you can view the availability for the Humphrey Terminal or download a mobile application that makes it quick to check on availability in the future.

Step 2

Determine whether you need to park for just a short time to pick up a passenger or need to leave your car for an extended time. For short-term, you'll use the "Humphrey Parking" on the purple ramp. For longer-term, you'll use the "MSP Value Parking" on the orange ramp.

Step 3

Drive to the Humphrey Terminal and approach the parking ramps from either 34th Avenue South or East 70th Street. Follow the signs to either the orange, long-term parking, or the purple, short-term parking, and park your car.

Step 4

Enter the Humphrey Terminal through the skyway on the purple ramp. When you leave the parking area, follow the signs to the exits and pay for parking with cash or a debit or credit card. Parking in the Humphrey Terminal is one of the cheapest options for parking at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport; as of December 2012, rates are $8 for the first hour, $2 for each additional hour, or $16 per day. If you fly often you can also sign up for the ePark option, which gives you discounted rates.

Tip

  • If you're using Terminal 1 -- the Lindbergh Terminal -- you can still save money by parking at the Humphrey Terminal. Take the light rail to Terminal 1 from the northeast side of the orange ramp.
  • Valet parking is available only at Terminal 1.
