How to Validate a Certificate of Origin

Microsoft Windows 7/Vista allows you to easily validate a certificate of origin. The certificate you need to validate should be installed on your computer for this purpose. Windows automatically checks the validity of all the installed certificates and displays the result.

Instructions

      Click "Start," then click "Control Panel."

      Double-click "Internet Options" in the Control Panel window.

      Click the "Content" tab on the Internet Properties dialog box that opens.

      Click "Certificates."

      Click the "Personal" tab on the Certificates dialog box that opens.

      Click to select a certificate you want to validate below "Issued To" and then click "View."

    • 7

      Click the "Certification Path" tab on the Certificate dialog box that opens. The status of the certificate will be displayed below "Certificate status." If the certificate is valid, the status will say "This certificate is OK."
