How to Identify Brand Names
Brands are important to identify certain manufacturers of goods or providers of services. These brands allow customers to recognize who has created a produce or provided a service by advertisement of the company's name. It creates competition between companies without leaving consumers confused on whom to consult for various goods or services. Brands are valuable tools for the success of companies all over the world.

1
Identify brand names by determining what particular items or services you are looking for. Clothing, for example, has thousands of brands available to choose from. Other items, such as certain foods, have fewer brand names to choose from.
-
2
Look for the location of the brand name on the product itself. Most are directly on the tags of the clothing while others are displayed on the front or back of the articles or items themselves. Each company has a particular design or logo, which, over time, becomes easily identifiable.

3
Determine the difference between something that is brand name and something that is not. In this case, the most significant characteristic is usually price or quality. Higher prices usually indicate a brand name, as do higher quality in production of the good.
-
4
Study the different types of brand names as they appear on the clothing, items, or advertisement. Associate it with characteristics of the produce itself, such as its unique appearance, taste or quality.
-
5
Attempt to pick out this particular brand from a clothing rack, a shelf or through a series of advertisements. Once you associate the name with the features of the items or services, then it becomes much easier to locate.
-
6
Check to see if there are other ways to determine whether the item is brand name. Some brand-name purses, for example, will have serial numbers to prove they are real. Depending on the item you are looking for, doing research on the particular item beforehand will help to increase your chance of spotting it in the middle of similar, lower-quality items.
