How to Unlock All Races in Mario Kart for DS

Mario Kart has existed on many Nintendo platforms since its first introduction on the Super Nintendo system. It was released for the Nintendo DS, a handheld gaming system, in 2005. Race as one of several of the Mario characters on over 30 courses, but you'll have to do some work to unlock all the courses. Many of the courses are locked until you meet certain milestones required to unlock them.

Instructions

1. Play the Mushroom and Flower cups. Get gold in both -- which means you come in first place overall at the end of the cup's four races -- to unlock the Star Cup.

2. Get gold on the Banana and Shell cups to unlock the Leaf Cup.

3. Play the Leaf Cup and get gold to unlock the Lightning Cup.

4. Receive gold when playing the Star Cup to unlock the Special Cup.

5. Complete steps 1 through 4 a total of three times, as you must unlock the cups in each of the three speeds -- 50cc, 100cc and 150cc -- separately.

6. Finish the 150cc with gold in every cup to unlock Mirror Mode, which contains all the same courses in mirrored versions of themselves.

7. Repeat steps 1 through 4 again to unlock all cups in Mirror Mode.

Tips & Warnings

• It may take more than one try to receive gold in one of the cups. It may even take many tries. Don't get frustrated, it just takes practice.
