How to Transfer From a CD to a Flash Drive
CDs generally hold only about 650MB of data, which is relatively small compared with many flash drives that have much larger storage capacities. Whether you are using a Mac or PC, it is possible to transfer files from your CDs to a flash drive and enjoy the convenience of a larger storage capacity.

Insert your CD into your computers CD/DVD-ROM drive. Connect your flash drive into an open USB port on your computer. These ports are located on the back, side or front depending on your computer manufacturer and model. Locate your CD and flash drive on the desktop if you are using a Mac. If you are using a PC, double-click "Computer" and locate your CD and flash drive icons in the "Drives" section.

Double-click your CD to launch its disk window. Double-click the flash drive to launch a separate window.

Drag files from your CD's window to your flash drive's window. The files can take a few minutes to transfer depending on the size.

Close both windows when you finish. Right-click your CD's icon and click "Eject." Right-click your flash drive's icon and click "Eject." Alternatively, double-click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the taskbar if you are using Windows. Click your flash drive in the window that launches, and click "Stop." When prompted, disconnect your flash drive from your computer.
