The word "Hemi" makes most auto enthusiasts think "power," but rarely would it inspire the thought of fuel economy. In 2014, the 5.7-liter, Hemi V-8 powers three models within Dodge's lineup: the Charger R/T, Challenger R/T and Durango R/T. Prior to 2011, this list of Hemi-equipped Dodges included Ram pickup trucks, but Ram has since become its own brand separate from Dodge. None of the three remaining Hemi-powered Dodges crest 15 mpg in the city, but the Hemi in these models get respectable mileage on the highway.

5.7-Liter Hemi Fuel Economy

The 2014 Dodge Challenger with the 5.7-liter V-8 received EPA-estimated economy ratings of 15 mpg city, 23 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined. The 2014 Dodge Charger R/T with the 5.7-liter engine and all-wheel drive received the same ratings as the Challenger. The 2014 Charger R/T with rear-wheel drive and the 5.7-liter Hemi engine gets 15 mpg city, 25 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined. The 2014 Dodge Durango with the 5.7-liter Hemi and rear-wheel drive gets 14 mpg city, 23 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined, while its optional all-wheel-drive system drops economy to 14 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 16 mpg combined.
