How to Unlock a Sprint M540

The Sprint M540, also known as the Samsung Rant SPH-M40, is a lightweight slide-out style phone with a full QWERTY keypad and a 2-megapixel combined digital camera and camcorder. When you're not using the phone, or have it in a public place, you may want to lock it to prevent unauthorized users from accessing personal data. Locking the phone limits its functionality. To restore the phone to full functionality, enter a security code via the "User Lock" screen.

Instructions

1. Turn on your Sprint M540, if necessary.

2. Push the "Menu/OK" key. The "User Lock" screen should appear on the display.

3. Select "Unlock" on the screen by pressing the right "Select" key under the display.

4. Enter the security code to unlock the phone.

Tips & Warnings

• If you need to change your security code, first unlock the Security Menu. Go to the "Home" screen by selecting the "Home" icon on your display. Push the "Menu/OK" key to open the menus. Select "Settings," "More," and "Security", then enter the existing code. Once you have access, select "Change Lock Code" and input the new code. Press the left "Select" key under "Next" to move on to the next screen. Enter the new code again, then press the left "Select" key under "Done" to finish.
