1
Cut the center out of a paper plate using a pair of craft scissors to create a wreath base. Gently fold the paper plate in half to begin making the cut.
-
2
Place pieces of colorful construction paper on a table. Trace around a child's left or right hand using a pencil. Use paper featuring festive colors to coordinate with a specific holiday, such as orange and brown for Thanksgiving, pink and red for Valentine's Day or red and green for Christmas.

Cut the hand shapes out of the paper using scissors.

4
Glue the handprints around the perimeter of the paper plate with the wrists pointing down and the fingers pointing up. Cover the entire plate surface with handprints.

5
Embellish the wreath with craft items. Add a touch of sparkle to the handprints with a glitter glue pen or by gluing on plastic gems. Tie a wide ribbon into a bow and glue it to the bottom of the wreath.

6
Tie a piece of ribbon or yarn into a loop and glue it behind the top of the wreath for hanging.
