How to Upgrade a Walmart Visa Debit Gift Card
For a convenient gift, give someone a Wal Mart Visa debit card. This card can be used anywhere the Visa logo is accepted as well as online. To upgrade your Wal Mart debit gift card, you have to cancel it and then purchase one that's worth more. As of December 2010, the card came in three denominations of $50, $75 and $100, making you only able to upgrade if you have a $50 or $75 card.

Look at your card. If you have a $50 or $75 card, you can upgrade by canceling the card, but if you have a $100 gift card, you can't upgrade.

Call 866-633-9096 or go to the website walmartgift.com to go through the canceling process.

Cancel your Wal Mart Visa debit gift card if you haven't given it to anyone yet. If you do this within 30 days of purchase, you'll receive the funds on the card as well as the purchase price. For example, if you bought a $50 card, didn't use it and canceled it within 30 days, you will be refunded $50 plus the $3.94 service fee. If you do this after 30 days, you will receive a refund for the funds, but not the purchase price. So you would receive the $50, but not the $3.94 service fee.
There is no additional fee for upgrading the card. However, you will still have to pay the service fee attached to the card. For example, if you're upgrading to a $100 card, you still have to pay the $5.44 service fee.
