How to Make a School Spirit Shirt
Showing support for your school can be expressed by creating a spirit shirt. A custom-made spirit shirt allows you to show your individuality and creativity. A school spirit shirt is made for events, such as pep rallies, homecoming games and school spirit week. A spirit shirt can display your school's name, colors and mascot. Designing a spirit shirt can be done with crafting items found in your home.

1
Apply iron-on letters. Cut out letters for the name of your school. Place them in order on the middle of your shirt face down. Apply the iron to the letters for 20 seconds. Remove the backing of the letters. To make your shirt more peppy, add phrases such as "Go team" or "Class of 2010" to the shirt, as well.

Apply fabric paint to the shirt. Use your school colors to personalize your shirt. Trace a picture of your mascot using a stencil. Lay the T-shirt on a flat, firm table. Place the stencil on the T-shirt and hold it with your fingertips firmly. Trace the picture with a paintbrush. Remove the stencil from the T-shirt. Let the shirt dry for one hour.

Get your peers to sign your T-shirt. Take a fabric pen and your newly designed shirt to school. With your teacher's permission, let your peers sign the front or back of your shirt. If you want the students in your graduating class to sign your shirt, then write "Class of 2010" or your graduating year on the center top of the back of your shirt. Allow your graduating class to sign their names on the back of your shirt.
