Step-by-Step Glitter Nail Tips

Add glitter to your fingernails to make them stand out from the average plain polish.

Adding glitter art to your fingernails can make the average colored polish pop. Having glitter on your nails will accentuate any outfit and make you a trendsetter. Also, your sparkling fingernails will go perfectly with bright jewelry -- as well as allow you to express your creativity. Adding glitter isn't hard to do but will make a huge difference in the appearance of your nails.

Things You'll Need

• Clear fingernail polish
• Art glitter polish or arts and crafts glitter
• Optional: Colored fingernail polish
• Nail file

Instructions

1. Apply clear polish as a bottom coat to all of your fingernails.

2. Apply glitter polish over the clear polish coat.

3. Sprinkle the arts and crafts glitter onto the nails and allow to dry.

4. File nails to shape once nails are dry.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want to have colored glitter nails, either apply the color of your choosing on top of the clear coat before you apply the glitter or use a colored glitter on top of the clear. Either will produce the colored effect.

• Apply the glitter directly into the bottle of nail polish and stir around if you would prefer to do that rather than sprinkle glitter on top of the wet nails.
