Instructions

  1. First clean, then examine, your Kirby

    • 1

Clean each section of your Kirby with a damp cloth and follow behind it with a dry cloth. This will help to keep the surface area clean and remove any particles from your Kirby. Regular cleaning and maintenance will prevent you from having to refurbish your Kirby on a regular basis.

    • 2

Examine the rollers on your Kirby and remove any hair or dirt. This will help keep your rollers in good condition. Unzip the bag that holds the vacuum bags and check to make sure it is not overly-full. Follow the Kirby owner's manual instructions if you need to change the bag. Kirby vacuums can only use Kirby-approved vacuum bags.

    • 3

Remove the front section of the Kirby. Flip up the lid and use your finger to pull out the lever on the circle. Check that the two green arrows are lined up. Rotate the lever clockwise until the two red levers match up. Remove the vacuum section of the Kirby and check for hair or debris that might be in the motor.

    • 4

Contact the Kirby company if your Kirby looks old and parts are missing. The Kirby company will refurbish your machine at any time. The number to reach Kirby customer service is 1-800-494-8586 in the United States and Canada.

    • 5

Locate the serial number on your Kirby. Look on the silver bottom section of the Kirby for the number. The information is also located on the paperwork that came with the Kirby at the time of purchase.

    • 6

Take your Kirby to an authorized Kirby dealership and allow the professionals to refurbish your machine. They will buff out any scratches, replace missing wheels and refurbish the motor as needed. This is part of the Kirby lifetime guarantee.
