How to Remodel a Cabin Bathroom
When vacationing for a weekend or longer at your cabin, you'd like to enjoy a relaxing bubble bath in a newly remodeled bathroom. Taking a hot bubble bath in a run-down bathroom that needs updating may not relax you. Remodeling your bathroom not only gives the bathroom a new appearance, but it also increases the value of your cabin. You need basic carpentry skills to remodel your cabin bathroom. Paint the ceiling in your cabin bathroom with ceiling paint, a paintbrush and paint roller. Consider painting the ceiling white or light tan, as these colors work well for a cabin bathroom as they match the bathroom decor colors. Attach an extension on the handle of the paint roller to prevent you from having to stand on a ladder or stool to paint the ceiling.

Paint the walls in your cabin bathroom with interior paint, your paintbrush and paint roller. When selecting a paint color, select a color found in nature. This allows you draw from the natural beauty surrounding your cabin and bring the color indoors.

Apply window film to the bathroom windows in your cabin. Window film allows the natural sunlight to radiate throughout the room, yet prevents people outside from seeing inside the bathroom. Measure the window with your tape measure, cut the film to size and secure it to the window the water. Gently press all air bubbles out of the film.

Turn off the power to the bathroom at the cabin's main power source. Remove your current light fixture according to the manufacturer's directions. Typically, unscrew the light fixture base and untwist the color-coded wires.

Install a new light fixture in the bathroom according to the manufacturer's directions. Usually, you connect the color-coded wires and secure them with wire nuts provided with the light fixture kit. Secure the light fixture to the ceiling with the screws provided and your screwdriver.

Place new rugs on the bathroom floor, around the base of the toilet, sink and bathtub. This renews the appearance of the bathroom floor and prevents you from having to purchase and install new flooring.
