How to Finish a Needlepoint Brick

How to Finish a Needlepoint Brick thumbnail
A brick covered in needlepoint makes an attractive and useful doorstop.

A needlepoint-covered brick is a practical throwback to the Victorian age, when décor details reached unprecedented heights. This decorated brick will do a fine job as a doorstop and with careful finishing, will not scuff a wooden or ceramic floor when moved. Needlepoint artists will enjoy creating these useful doorstops to match the color and style of the rooms they are placed in. The needlepoint-covered brick doorstops can also make thoughtful homemade gifts.

    • 3

Place the completed needlepoint canvas over the bubble wrap.

    • 4

Fold the corners neatly at right angles and secure in place by sewing with the tapestry needle and carpet thread.
