How to Hook Up an Old TV With a Cable to a New VCR/CD thumbnail
Connect a DVD player to an older TV with the appropriate cables.

Although VCRs and DVD players are continually evolving, even the latest models are still compatible with your old cable-ready televisions. Confusion about compatibility seems to stem from the fact that many new DVD players and VCRs are now being made to be compatible with high-definition televisions. Despite this, you can connect both DVD players and VCRs (which may soon be phased out completely anyway) to older TVs using cables.
