How to Change the Trackball Color on a Sidekick
Your Sidekick is a cellular phone with a horizontal screen that rises to reveal a horizontal keypad. This phone uses a trackball to navigate the screen. If you are bored with the look of your trackball, replace it with one of a different color. This process will require you to disassemble the unit.

Turn off your Sidekick and turn it over. Slide the battery door off and remove the battery.

Pry the plastic plate off of the bottom of the back of the unit to expose two screws.

Remove all screws from the corners of the rear of the unit.

Raise the screen to its open position and turn it to the side on its hinge. Two screws will now be exposed above the keypad. Remove them.

Remove the screen from the phone and set it aside.

Lift the front housing off the phone to expose the trackball assembly on the right side of the unit. Remove the trackball assembly.

Fit a new trackball (the color of your choice) in the trackball compartment and reverse the steps for reassembly.
